Announcing the World Build Hackathon Winners!

After an incredible 48 hours with 157 builders participating and 41 top quality teams presenting at demo day, we’re thrilled to announce our World Build Hackathon winners:

1st place: Work Anywhere
2nd place: OnePay
3rd place: Squadletics

Why we like Work Anywhere

Work Anywhere is a revolutionary platform enabling global work opportunities through verified human profiles.

“Work Anywhere fulfills the long-held promise of onchain reputation by leveraging proof of personhood on World, giving workers the freedom, trust, and opportunity to carry their credibility anywhere—unlocking a truly borderless and decentralized way to work.” - Greg Bresnitz, CEO, FWB

The team receives a $1,500 cash prize, two FWB memberships, 1 year subscription to Alchemy Enterprise, and advances to our residential build sprint in Buenos Aires later this month.

Why we like OnePay

OnePay is a seamless P2P payment solution. “22 million people are now instantly enabled to receive payment for goods and services from any token converted to USDC. We love the real world utility.” - Leighton Cusak, Head of Ecosystem, Tools for Humanity

The team receives a $1,000 cash prize, two FWB memberships, 1 year subscription to Alchemy Scale.

Why we like Squadletics

Squadletics brings an innovative approach to verified fitness competition. “We love the fundamental principle of the idea: To redistribute value to real humans who succeed in challenging themselves’” - Max Kreuz, Operations Lead at AMT

The team receives a $500 cash prize, an FWB membership, 1 year subscription to Alchemy Grow.

What we looked for in breakout projects

The hackathon kicked off with 50 builders and friends gathering at Blockchain Capital's NYC office, setting the stage for two days of IRL & URL intensive development.

Our panel of judges was comprised of Anay Simunovic Investor at Blockchain Capital; Greg Bresnitz, CEO at FWB; Leighton Cusak, Head of Ecosystem at Tools for Humanity; Max Kreuz, Operations Lead at AMT; and Usman Asim, Developer Relations at Alchemy.

We evaluated all 41 demo day submissions along five pillars guiding the vision for the next generation of breakout Mini Apps on World: How well does this leverage World's unique features? Is the idea viable and creative with potential for ecosystem impact? Are user flows functional and intuitive with a mobile-first UX/UI? Does the team have strong technical execution and documentation? Is there an X-Factor like unique innovation, exceptional creativity, breakthrough potential, or future scalability?

Congratulations to the winning teams, and extremely big ups to everyone who participated. A very warm thank you to our Hackathon partners at Blockchain Capital and Alchemy. Up next: Buenos Aires!

Feel Good Governance! Vote for $FWB Academy

Submitted by FWB Member Kitty Vo, the proposed $FWB Academy is “a 6-week member-only program that aims to up-skill and educate our community on token utility-building, Web3 culture and crypto-native aesthetics whilst developing a community proposal. An added bonus is you'll also get hands-on practice developing your own portfolio of Web3 work from outputs of each workshop.”

Distribute Your Music, Tokenize Royalties, Get Paid Instantly

Original Works is a decentralized and open-source protocol for music IP. We integrate with the traditional music supply chain, and once a song is distributed, traditional music royalties are tokenized through smart contracts.

If you are an independent artist or label, you can now enable instant royalty collection from major platforms in USDC, with payments sent directly to IP holders' wallets via smart contracts. Access advances, easily manage revenue sharing, and retain full self-custody of your IP rights.
